CEREDAN BROOKS

Memorist of the Forgotten Isle

Ceredan Brooks was born in a foreign land, only arriving in Eorzea within the last few years. Inventive, empathetic, and sometimes wildly eccentric, his fascination with acquiring new knowledge and his desire to teach serve as a calling for him. He has a particular knack for seeing the connections between discrete bits of information, and for combat tactics.

Ceredan is experimenting with a variant of Blue Magic, and tentatively refers to one who uses it--at the moment, only himself--as a "Memorist".

On a more descriptive note, Ceredan has the facial features and long limbs of a Midlander, but is 6 fulms, 3 ilms tall with the broad build of a Highlander. He speaks with a peculiar, rolling accent similar to a Hrothgar's; his voice a gravelly bass-baritone that can rattle people's boot soles when loud enough.

He appreciates a good cigar or pipe of tobacco, though he does not drink alcohol ((but that isn't an endorsement of smoking. Don't smoke, kids)).

The Memorist's Philosophy

To be a memorist, to Ceredan, is more than just borrowing the magic and skills of others. It is to ensure that nothing worth remembering is forgotten.

Be it a local legend or a beautiful vista, a song or a kind deed, the memorist is pledged to preserve it, and to share it. He wanders the world, seeking wisdom and history to keep and to share, and in breaking down the barriers of time and space that separate people, bring them closer together.

Ceredan's vision is that a memorist will be welcome everywhere, using his knowledge to help those he visits, and trading it for new knowledge.
